How’s that legislation working out?

This article was first posted on Drinkuary One interesting thing about the proposed legislation both minimum pricing and the bans on multi-buys is it’s all been tried before so we can look at other countries to get a rough idea of how well it’s gone. Leveson calls for more pointless legislation

There’s been an awful lot written about the Leveson report, and I’m sure you’ve already read a fair chunk of it, so I don’t intend to say that much. The pointlessness of the whole investigation was summed up for me by this tweet from “The bard: The Bard (@TwitTwotBard): “Can anybody name one press wrongdoing identified by Leveson that wasn’t covered by existing laws? Leave? We should be so lucky

Sometimes not checking my e-mail works out rather well, as in this case it rather pulled together a few bits. The Telegraph tells us that Germany is desperate for the UK to not leave the EU. Presumably because if we do they’ll be left to pick up the bill for the Euro, but all the time we’re around they can pass some of it our way despite all the measures allegedly designed to stop non-euro members getting shafted by it.
