You can stop the speaker but not the speech

I along with many others spent toddled along to Speakers Corner on a cold snowy Sunday to listen to a speech that if it hadn’t been for the actions of the UK Government probably wouldn’t have got me out of bed. Another day, another terror attack

This week has been London’s turn to be the latest target of Islamic terrorist activity, and all of the usual platitudes and nonsense has been wheeled out. Exactly the same as last time and the time before that. The police and powers that be are worried about yet another anti-Muslim back lash, even though there’s not been one yet. It’s up to you and me

A sign of the times in that on the sad news of the tragic death of David Bowie his fans rather than having a whip round to build a statue and maybe having a memorial created by public subscription have instead started a petiton asking that Lambeth council spend other peoples money to do it on their behalf. Such great fans they are that they’re happy to spend other peoples money on commemorating their idol.
