We’ve taken care of everything – The words you hear, the songs you sing

Not quite the thought police but step by step we’re getting there. The Portsmouth News (Via The Register) is reporting a musician who was taken off a train to explain a song list he was writing which was read over his shoulder by (presumably actual) transport police.

Though at least this time they didn’t use the terrorism excuse but instead it was because there had “been a ‘number of arrests’ nearby including one man who had killed his wife.“. It’s probably just as well he wasn’t in a folk group, anyone singing traditional ditties staggering home tonight had best be careful.

On the bright side at least he didn’t have a camera with him, then he’d have been in real trouble.

  1. Wouldn’t it be a pity if institutional investors in Stagecoach – who own South West Trains – came to the conclusion that Brian Souter had lost control of his front-line staff and would shortly damage the company by annoying the customers (even more than normal). Why, they might dump the stock.

Souter might find that he would have to step down if the share price spiralled down, or he might find that the only way to stop it would be to sack the goons and pay Mr Shaw compensation and a big fat apology.

I notice they closed down at 181.20, only slightly above the day low.

It would indeed be a pity if such a thing were to happen, I can’t imagine that this story being picked up more widely will be helping. It was in this mornings Metro and seems to have been picked up by the Mirror and mail as well. Google news shows quite a few places picking it up.

Sadly they seem to have picked up a bit today.

Anyone else see the 2112 reference..?
