It seems whilst I was away there was a bit of a demo by people who’d rather the government not make any cuts at all but presumably instead drive the country into penury as they don’t seem to be suggesting an alternative to not borrowing more money every month. during his appearance on “10 O’clock Live” Bob Crow has proved himself an utter idiot. His genius idea for solving the current financial crisis (it was all caused by the bankers don’t you know, not by years of Government borrowing)is …. a tax on e-mail. He reckons that charging just a penny per e-mail would solve the whole fiscal dilemma we find ourselves in, after all which would we rather a mere penny per e-mail or to lose meals-on-wheels and hospitals. I’m afraid to say that the “small minority” of violent elements in the student protests and their “apologists and supporters have managed to remove what sympathy I had for their cause. I largely blame the students representatives and organisers who seem to have had no other campaign (at least in London) than walking on Parliament, and don’t seem to have had any plan on how to deal with and separate themselves from those amongst them that were intent on violence.
