Another stroll

It seems whilst I was away there was a bit of a demo by people who’d rather the government not make any cuts at all but presumably instead drive the country into penury as they don’t seem to be suggesting an alternative to not borrowing more money every month. Dust settling on the student rampage

I’m afraid to say that the “small minority” of violent elements in the student protests and their “apologists and supporters have managed to remove what sympathy I had for their cause. I largely blame the students representatives and organisers who seem to have had no other campaign (at least in London) than walking on Parliament, and don’t seem to have had any plan on how to deal with and separate themselves from those amongst them that were intent on violence. Weather or riots… place your bets

I see from Facebook that the students plan to take to the streets again, though this time for a peaceful protest. though their banner does look like a cross between a socialist revolutionary poster and Irish republican lyrics/slogans – both movements well known for their peaceful nature. The Facebook group claims over 6,000 people are going to be attending, however looking out of my window I can see about 3 inches of snow on the ground and more falling.
