Falkland Islands 30 years on

Thirty years ago today British forces liberated the Falkland Islands from Argentinian occupation. Possibly the most justified use of British forces since the end of the second world war (even allowing for the Belgrano). Yet now thirty years down the line the Argentinians are once more sabre rattling over the Falkland Islands, imposing shipping restrictions in the area. ACTA vote tomorrow

This is terribly late to press for which I apologise but tomorrow (Thursday 31st) MEP’s will vote on ACTA, this has already been rejected by the Dutch government (though possibly just as an electioneering gimmick). Despite my tardiness if you haven’t already done so there is still time to e-mail your MEP. You could even use WriteToThem, which makes it terribly painless. After the rather poor replies from the Local Tory’s, who I’m sure were not in the least bit afflicted with conflicts of interest or being worried about ruffling local feathers in way that might affect their political carriers, a direct and excellent response from Tory MEP Syed Kamal.
