Petition for the Falkland Islanders

It may not have escaped your attention that those Argentinian types are once more rattling sabres and demanding we had over the Falkland Islands, in the hope of distracting attention from problems at home. In response to these demands for “negotiation” over sovereignty the islanders had a vote which resoundingly said “no thanks we’ll stay British”, now in these enlightened times where indigenous self determination and democracy is all the rage you’d expect that to be the end of it, or at least for our staunchest allies to leap to our defense. A troubling article in the Telegraph via Harry’s place: Christianity close to extinction in the Middle East Regardless of what you may think about the power structures of any of the Christian sects this is persecution of ordinary people trying to live ordinary lives. Apart from a few blogs and newspaper articles like this the level of persecution is getting very little attention, the cynic in me wonders if that’s due to the faith of the persecutors or the persecuted. +1-1
