Haters or marketing?

I know there are more important things going on, but I’ve already done most of the digging on this because it’s the sort of thing I enjoy and I’ve been accused of taking a deliberately contrary position just for the sake of it. the reason for this accusation was because I suggested that the whole Over weight haters incident could have been a hoax for publicity purposes. Black Friday! Break out the champers Jeeves.

Today is apparently black Friday, and the articles and posts about how terrible it all is were already well underway yesterday. These articles seem to originate from the worst of the champagne socialists, just consider this article in the Guardian lauding “Civilised Friday”. Where booksellers try to tempt people in with “butlers serving prosecco and free hand massages” presumably in the hope that people might also buy a book or two. Everyday tax avoidance

So once more tax is in the news and the world and their dog seems to up in arms about people “avoiding” tax. Tax avoidance seems to currently be the fashionable thing to hate and who cares about the law or justice. Many people have said it before but it seems it’s worth repeating, tax evasion is illegal and naughty, tax avoidance is legal and is actually sometimes used by the state to encourage certain behaviors.
